Kandila Company

Warning! This is a feel good post!

If you follow me on Insta you may know I have a massive crush on the candles from Kandila Co, a Melbourne based candle company with a difference. And there are two reasons for this.

Firstly, the smell and packaging of these candles is out of this world. They really don’t compare to the vast majority of scented soy candles that are around. These are top notch! Their artisan natural candles are made from vegan, GM-free soy wax, perfectly blended with premium Australian-made fragrance oil and use lead-free, natural fibre wicks. Each one has been carefully hand-poured into handmade reusable borosilicate glass or recyclable travel tin and lovingly prepared and packed by the same pair of hands into hand-assembled and repurposable box packaging. Janice, the founder and owner of Kandila Co, is so dedicated that she bathes her candles and polishes the glass before sending them out. Now- I only do this with my wine glasses, once a year with Christmas…. Maybe….

I’ve been using Kandila as gifts for friends both in Aus and oversees. And the travel size is perfect to use a favor gifts with baby showers and weddings. Oh, and they are so easy to style! All flavours are delish, but the espresso has to be my absolute favourite. The box itself is so beautiful and stunning that it worth keeping! I have one in my study that I use for my pens

The second reason why I am a massive fan is one that warms my teacher heart, and is the main reason I’m writing about them on my blog today… Their purpose is so bloody damn beautiful!

Kandila Co. was founded by Janice, who along with her husband Mark, are first generation immigrants to Australia. Finding themselves constantly thinking about their home country, the Philippines, and the quality of life that people in the poorest provinces have, they are determined to help end the painful cycle of poverty, discrimination and marginalisation caused by lack of education by starting a different kind of candle company and creating hand-crafted candles that give back.

Kandila Co. donates 50% of its profits to charities that provide education to children in developing nations. Founded in March 2017, in its first 9 months and with the help of their customers they’ve managed to sponsor 44 underprivileged kids for a full year.  44!! In one year! Isn’t that fantastic?

If you like to have a beautiful smelling candle, that makes every coffee table look instantly better. And you want to make a real difference in this world and help underprivileged children, make sure you check their website here. If you order before 28 Feb. ’18 and use the code WHITEANDWANDER at check out, you will receive 25% off.

Let me know what you think!
